Overview

The Fauna Cargo Cradle carries a cargo cage under your handlebar, mounted to the steerer instead of the bars. It combines the Handlebar Bag Support, an XL Cargo Cage body, and the Kitty Collar into one system. The load sits tucked under the bar rather than out in front of it, which keeps the bike stable and leaves room for your hands, especially on narrow drop bars.

Steerer-Mounted

Bolts to a short Handlebar Bag Support in your spacer stack, so the weight sits low and close to the head tube. Nothing clamps to the handlebar.

Won't Rotate

The included Kitty Collar clamps the steerer and keys into the support, so the cradle stays put under load.

Stainless Construction

The support and cage are 304 stainless steel. It can be bent and straightened without failing, which matters when a bike goes down.

Modular

Built from the same support and cage body we sell on their own, so parts are easy to replace or repurpose.

The cradle mounts in your spacer stack, so it has the same requirements as the Handlebar Bag Support and Kitty Collar together. Your bike needs:

  • A threadless 1-1/8” steerer. Tapered steerers are fine, since they’re 1-1/8” where the stem clamps. Straight 1-1/4” and 1.5” steerers and quill stems aren’t compatible.
  • At least 13 mm of spacers you can remove. The support takes 5 mm and the collar takes 8 mm. If your stem sits directly on the headset with no spacers, there’s no room for it.
  • Cables that don’t run along the steerer. This usually rules out high-end road bikes. Bikes that route cables through the headset and exit at or above the headset may be compatible, but check your setup before buying.
